Terms of Service

Effective 25 October 2026

These terms set out what you can expect from Arc, and what we expect from you when you use it. The first lines of each section sum it up; the full text is what counts.

These terms

By using Arc, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

These terms are an agreement between you and Aneesh Hegde, an individual based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India (“we”, “us”), who provides Arc: the apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows, and the website at arctransfer.co.

By downloading, installing or using Arc, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Arc.

Who can use Arc

You need to be 13 or older. Under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms for you.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Arc. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Arc only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of Arc.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

To use Arc, you sign in with Google or with an email and password. Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for everything done through your account and the devices linked to it. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password and email support@arctransfer.co.

You can delete your account at any time in Arc’s settings.

What you send

Your files are yours. We never see them, and you're responsible for what you send and who you send it to.

You keep every right you have in the files, folders and messages you send with Arc. They go directly between devices, end-to-end encrypted, and we don’t store them, so we need no licence to them.

Because we can’t see what you send, you alone are responsible for it, and for making sure you have the right to send it. Check who you’re sending to: once a transfer is delivered, it can’t be taken back.

Only invite people who’d expect to hear from you. When you connect with a friend, they can see your name, email address, profile picture and device names, and can send you files.

Acceptable use

Use Arc lawfully, and don't use it to harm anyone or to break, overload or get around it.

You agree not to use Arc to:

  • Send anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, content that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights, or anything that breaks India’s Information Technology Act, 2000 or the laws where you are.
  • Send malware or anything designed to damage or gain unauthorised access to a device.
  • Harass, threaten or spam anyone, including with unwanted invites.
  • Impersonate someone, or misrepresent who you are.
  • Interfere with Arc, its servers or relays, or anyone else’s use of them, including by overloading them or using automated scripts.
  • Get around your plan’s limits or any security measure.
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell Arc, except where the law allows it or an open-source licence says you may.

Plans and payments

Arc is free with daily limits. Pro removes them, and is paid through the App Store or Google Play. Lifetime means for as long as Arc runs.

Free
Free to download and use, with limits on how much you can send each day and how much can go through a relay each month. The current limits are shown in the app, and we may change them.
Pro Monthly and Annual
Subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Pro Annual may come with a free trial for eligible users. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription and you’re charged.
Pro Lifetime
A one-time purchase. “Lifetime” means for as long as we operate Arc, not your lifetime. It includes a monthly relay allowance, shown in the app.

Pro is linked to your Arc account and works on all your devices. Subscriptions include unlimited relay use under a fair-use policy: if an account’s relay use goes far beyond normal personal use, we may limit it, and we’ll contact you first.

Billing, cancelling and refunds

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms apply to payment, renewal and cancellation. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Prices may change, with notice given as the store requires.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can’t issue them directly. If something has gone wrong with a purchase, email support@arctransfer.co anyway, and we’ll do what we can to put it right.

We may change or stop offering a plan or a feature. If a change takes away something you’ve already paid for, we’ll give you reasonable notice. Promo codes can’t be exchanged for money and may expire.

The service

Arc relies on networks we don't control, so we can't promise every transfer will succeed. Keep your own backups.

Transfers depend on your devices, networks and relay servers, so we can’t promise that Arc will always be available, or that every transfer will complete or arrive quickly. We may change, add or remove features over time.

Arc moves files; it doesn’t store them. Keep your own copies and backups of anything important.

Arc relies on services from other companies, such as the App Store, Google Play and Google sign-in. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for them.

Arc's name and software

Arc belongs to us. You may use it for yourself, but not copy or rebrand it.

Arc, its software, name, logo and design belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Arc on devices you own or control, under these terms. Some parts of Arc are open-source software under their own licences, listed in the app.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.

Suspending or ending your use

You can stop at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

You can stop using Arc and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account, or limit your access, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Arc or its users. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and why.

If we decide to stop running Arc altogether, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice. The sections on what you send, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes still apply after your use of Arc ends.

Disclaimers

Arc is provided as it is, without guarantees beyond what the law requires.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Arc is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, fit for a particular purpose, or that files will always arrive intact. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

Liability

If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid for Arc in the last 12 months.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of Arc or inability to use it.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Arc is limited to the amount you paid for Arc in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws where you live, including India’s Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of what you sent or how you broke these terms, you cover it.

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover any losses, costs and reasonable legal fees we incur because of a claim by someone else arising from what you send with Arc, or from your breach of these terms or of the law.

Governing law and disputes

Indian law applies, and disputes go to the courts in Bangalore. Email us first, and we'll try to sort it out.

If you have a problem with Arc, please email support@arctransfer.co first. Most issues can be resolved quickly, and we’ll try in good faith to do so within 30 days.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts in Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of Arc. If you’re a consumer living in the EU, EEA or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and may bring a claim in its courts.

If you got Arc from the App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple can enforce them.

If you downloaded Arc from Apple’s App Store, you also agree that:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Arc and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Arc.
  • If Arc fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for Arc, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Arc.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about Arc, including product liability claims, claims that Arc fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that Arc infringes someone’s intellectual property.
  • You aren’t in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and you aren’t on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

If we make important changes, we'll tell you at least 14 days before they apply.

We may update these terms from time to time, and we’ll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is material, we’ll tell you in Arc or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep using Arc after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms; if you don’t, you can stop using Arc and delete your account.

General

These terms are the whole agreement, and if one part fails, the rest still stands.

These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Arc. If any part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part straight away, we haven’t given up the right to. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to whoever takes over Arc, and will tell you if we do.
